Paris, Part III

Ten points if you can spot me looking sort of sarcastic off to the side...

 After the Hemingway Bar...

We were lucky enough to visit so many of those cafes in the Latin quarter (near St. Germaine) that Hemingway and Fitzgerald and Ezra Pound and even Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde and Satre and Voltaire used to go to (can you see me crying right now because I so am).

And that's the end of me boring you with vacation photos :)

Paris, Part II

Vince sweater, peter pan collared shirt from Lands' End, Genetic leather pants, J. Crew boots

Some slightly silly Eiffel Tower pics... we ate at Jules Verne, which is not only in the tower itself but also an amazing restaurant (it didn't hurt that our waiter was super cute, just saying).

One more post to come!

Paris, Part I

This was basically my cold-weather uniform in early springtime Paris... J. Crew boots, Genetic leather pants, leopard coat from River Island, worn with my favorite Loewe purse.

More to come!

Reading List

It took about five minutes for The Picture of Dorian Gray to become my all-time favorite book... I'm not going to bother discussing why because it's so many people's favorite book and it's been praised to death. Suffice it to say it was beautiful in basically every sense of the word and I'm in love with that dick Lord Henry Wotton.

Re-reading A Moveable Feast at the moment to get in the mood for Paris. I got my copy at Shakespeare & Co. and just thinking about it makes me giddy.

Planning to read The Beautiful and the Damned while on holiday... I'm always saying that Fitzgerald is my favorite author but sometimes it takes me a while to bog through his work so who knows how true that statement really is. Very much looking forward to this book, though.

Presents of Mind

Vince waffle-knit sweater, Bird by Juicy Couture shorts, Wolford tights, J. Crew boots

For Christmas I got this super-comfy yak/wool sweater and these amazing ankle boots, and I've already been wearing them to death. So in love, especially with the boots (all my friends and family are tired of hearing me wax poetic about how the boots are not only sort of '90s grunge-ish, in a more polished way, but also sort of equestrienne-preppy, a la J. Crew).

Apologies for the poor camera quality (courtesy of my beloved Blackberry) and my awkward faces.

At Last

Sequined sweatshirt from J. Crew, Bird by Juicy Couture leather shorts

I'm ecstatic about finally getting my hands on a pair of leather shorts. These black beauties are from Bird by Juicy Couture, which isn't really a brand I wear but I definitely fell in love with the classic, simplistic design of these. And they're so weather-versatile that they've already become a staple of my wardrobe.
